Nom banh chok is one kind of noodles which is often sold by the vendor in the morning. The image of woman carrying it on baskets from a pole balanced on their shoulder selling Nom banh chok is easily caught and becomes a part of Cambodian life.
This food consists of noodles laboriously pounded out of rice, favored with a fish-based green curry navy made from lemon grass, turmeric root and lime. This dish is the perfect combination of fresh flavor of vegetable and rich sweet flavor of fish-based curry. Nom banh chok has another “Red version” which is usually served in ceremonial occasions and wedding festivities.
